Lísandra Týra Jóns (b. 2000, Iceland) lives and works between Berlin and Reykjavík. Her practice moves across dance and performance art, video art and photography.
Lísandra deals with a certain fascination of the flesh, both of the human and non-human and explores the resonance of duration and the body at its limits.
She co-founded the dance collective DISTANT CASUALS during her studies at SEAD / Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance and was assisted by the french film director Philippe Grandrieux to stage his performance piece “Meutrière“ for her graduation project in 2023.
After her studies, Lísandra has worked with artists such as Danh Võ and Heinz Peter Knes.
